Davey (he/him) is an editor, producer, and sound designer based in Salt Lake City. He is currently a managing editor for Snap Judgment Studios.

His stories and original scores have aired on Snap Judgment across 500+ public radio stations. Many of his pieces have been recognized as exceptional, including #3 on Thrillist’s “Best Podcast Episodes of 2016”, #13 on The Atlantic’s “Best Podcasts of 2016” and #36 in 2015.  Most recently, he edited Spooked’s translated “Los Chaneques” story, which was selected as one of Spotify’s “Best Episodes of 2022.” He has also contributed to NPR, Marketplace, The Dinner Party Download, The World, KCRW, and KPCC.

Previously, Davey was the creator and senior producer for Adult ISH, an interview and storytelling podcast by YR Media x PRX’s Radiotopia. The show has been featured on NYT, The Guardian, CBC, and CNN. He was also a freelance sound designer and engineer for Snap’s spinoff Spooked Podcast (Top Apple Arts Podcast and 2 million monthly downloads) + production advisor for Self Evident (Golden Crane Winner), a show by and about Asian Americans.

Davey has taught storytelling courses at the award-winning Writing Pad in San Francisco and Oakland School for the Arts. Several of his students and clients have aired their stories on NPR and The Moth. He has also provided early outside production assistance for San Quentin’s Ear Hustle and has directed light cues for storytelling shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Ace Hotel Theater LA, and Sydney Goldstein Theater SF.

His side hustles include point-and-shoot film and bike polo. He was on "The North Pole" comedic web series pretending to know about Game of Thrones. But real life Davey does not.
